Leadership TeamBoard of Directors

Samuel Watts
CEO/Executive Director
Sam has had the privilege of leading teams and coaching leaders in a variety of contexts. He was a leader at a senior level in the business world for more than 10 years and was a team performance specialist running his own consulting firm for more than 14 years when the board invited him to join WHM in 2016. Sam is described by colleagues as a visionary leader who focuses on creating an environment that promotes innovation and implementation. He is also a writer, facilitator and conference speaker who has had the opportunity to give presentations at seminars on leadership and team performance in more than 20 different countries in the past 15 years.

Sam’s concern for people who struggle with poverty has deep roots. Growing up as the eldest in a disadvantaged working-class family of seven children, he knew what it was like to do without things. This experience led him to become involved in pro-bono work with a number of charitable organizations, a passion that is shared by his entire extended family. Sam is married to Susan Kaiser, a lawyer who serves as General Counsel at a large multi-national healthcare company. They have two lovely daughters who are engaged in post-secondary studies.
