Welcome Hall Mission Helps toShelter

Welcome Hall Mission’s objective is to transform Montreal into a city without homelessness and we are proud to offer tangible, realistic and attainable solutions. At the Macaulay Emergency Shelter, the Royal Victoria Shelter, and through ‘Programme Bienvenue’, people experiencing homelessness have direct access to intervention workers, social workers and psychologists who assess their needs and establish a plan. Our end goal is ALWAYS permanent housing. Since 2019, Welcome Hall Mission has housed over 400 people.

Welcome Hall Mission ProvidesFood

Marché Bon Accueil is Welcome Hall Mission’s innovative solution to helping hungry families in Montreal. At our two locations in Saint-Henri and Montreal-North, families are offered a CHOICE during their grocery shopping experience. The only difference between Marché Bon Accueil and a regular grocery store is that the groceries are free! Thanks to our corporate donors, Welcome Hall Mission recuperates and redistributes over one million kilograms of nutritious food each year.

Welcome Hall Mission SpreadsLove

Welcome Hall Mission believes that there are critical points in a person’s life where they benefit from the support and love of a community.

Motherhood: Our ‘Cœur à sœur’ program teaches life and parenting skills that give young, single mothers the confidence necessary to raise happy and healthy children. Since 2010, we’ve helped over 1000 mothers and mothers to be.

Youth: Thanks to the Home Depot Canada Foundation, Welcome Hall Mission can help guide youth living in precarious circumstances. Counsellors and mentors offer support through schooling, employment and family challenges.

Montreal HELPS Montreal

Our Story

Established in 1892, Welcome Hall Mission is the largest doorway to help for Montrealers in need. We offer programs that support people experiencing homelessness or food insecurity, as well as new Canadians, young single mothers, families and at-risk youth. Our goal is to provide hope through concrete actions and effective solutions. This includes preparing 4700 meals per week and providing 3000 Montrealers with free groceries.

Throughout our history, Welcome Hall Mission has adapted to meet the changing needs of Montreal and the people we serve. Today, thanks to the faithful support of our community partnerships and generous donors, we are continuing to grow as an innovative leader in social change.
