Your generosity has been the driving force behind our achievements, enabling us to reach milestones that were once just aspirations and I hope you enjoy reading about each one in our 2023 Impact Report.

This year was particularly special as we hosted not one, but two Back-to-School events for the very first time. I couldn’t be more proud that we were able to help twice as many families set their kids up for success.

I was equally proud to launch our Compassion Pathways project. Born out of the necessity observed during the pandemic, this program is dedicated to supporting our senior population, ensuring they have access to groceries, healthcare, and social connections. It’s a prime example of how your support enables us to innovate and adapt to meet the needs of those we serve—whenever and however they arise.

Every achievement we’ve celebrated this past year is thanks to you and your unwavering commitment to making Montreal a better place for everyone. Here’s to continuing our journey together, making even greater strides in the years to come.

Twice the Fun for Kids, Double the Impact for Families

In the fall 2023, our Back-to-School event Rentrée la Tête Haute celebrated a new and exciting milestone! For the first time, we hosted this gathering for families in two locations, choosing to include a brand-new spot in Montreal North. This was a big deal because it meant families didn’t have to trek across town to get their kids ready for school.

An amazing total of 1,456 backpacks were distributed!

The kids’ smiles were huge as they grabbed their gear and dove into the fun and games. Witnessing their joy and excitement is a sight to behold, and this year I couldn’t be more proud that we were able to help twice as many families set their kids up for success.

A huge shoutout to Home Depot for teaming up with us and making this event a smashing success again this year.

“I love my new backpack and supplies. I am really excited to start the new school year.” ‑ Carene, Beneficiary, Rentrée la tête haute

  • Home Depot: We are honoured to partner with the Home Depot Canada Foundation to prevent and end youth homelessness in Canada. The foundation’s financial support and logistical assistance from the stores in Saint-Henri and Anjou have been absolutely invaluable to supporting youth across the city in 2022/23.
  • Just For Laughs: This year, our friends at Just for Laughs really brought us into their circle by weaving our fundraising efforts and messages into an even bigger part of their festival events. They also presented us with a generous $10,000 donation at Canada’s Walk of Fame. Cheers to this incredible partnership!
  • Southside Cafe Toy and Food Drive: 2023 marked 14 years of the Southside Cafe Toy and Food Drive, helping families in need by collecting new toys, clothing, books, hygiene products and many non-perishable items. Last year, this incredible annual event brought in three truckloads of donations to help local families during the holiday season.
  • Volunteers: Welcome Hall Mission volunteers are agents of change in our community. Using their unique talents to transform Montreal, one life at a time. Thank you to each and every one of our amazing volunteers!
