Youth intervention worker

Under the supervision of the coordinator, the youth housing worker intervenes with young men and women using the services as well as those of different programs such as Coeur à sœur. The youth housing worker, in his primary functions, welcomes the youth, evaluates their needs and accompanies them in their efforts to obtain housing and follow-up to help them maintain it. He collaborates with the SAJ interveners and partners to select future participants for housing placement.
The youth housing worker supports the organization in the various administrative tasks related to the different services and programs. The main objective of the youth housing worker is to accompany the clientele towards stability in housing and towards resources likely to meet their needs. He uses means such as accompaniment by appointment and emergency accompaniment to be able to transfer the clients towards adequate resources (housing and programs).
Job type :
- Full time (37,5h per week)
- Contractual (36 weeks)
- Daytime work from Monday to Friday and stable schedule
Primary Tasks and Responsibilities
- Evaluate the client's housing needs or other programs
- Be present at lease signings and housing arrangements (furniture delivery)
- Accompanies the client to the purchase of the first groceries and other basic needs
- Conduct intake interviews and file opening (SISA) by giving all information about services and programs
- Draws up with the client a list of daily tasks to be done for the management of their housing and procedures (maintenance, laundry, grocery shopping, appointments, etc.)
- Maintains statistics on his/her activities
- Other related tasks
Desired Profile
- Flexible and reliable
- Good knowledge of spoken French and English
- University degree (Certificate, Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate) in the following fields of study: Addiction; Criminology; Psychoeducation; Psychology or other relevant fields
- Good knowledge of the Office Suite and SISA software
