Many of our clients are searching for a way to reintegrate into the workforce and make new social connections. Welcome Hall Mission offers beginner and intermediate French and English language courses to better equip clients for their next steps and job search workshops to help them on their path to appropriate employment.
Welcome Hall Mission’s Children’s Services team collaborates with families to support children in their academic efforts on a daily basis. Children are much more likely to persevere and go on to graduate when they are equipped with study tools and effective strategies for getting their work done.
Our academic support program also includes a personal development component with sports activities, themed workshops, and opportunities to express creativity!
In August, Welcome Hall Mission closes down Acorn Street for the biggest block party in town. Music, popcorn, cotton candy, and educational activities are all part of the excitement for almost 3,000 children. Most importantly, each child receives a brand-new backpack, bursting with school supplies selected especially for their grade level. So that they start the year in style, each child or teen also receives a pair of new shoes and/or clothing.
The Christmas season is a time of delight for little ones who dream of receiving a special toy or gift. With support from our donors, more than 2,800 children and their families attend our annual Christmas Toy Giveaway every year. Many of the families we serve struggle throughout the year and it’s always wonderful to see them enjoy this day of joy and celebration!
