Parenting comes with challenges, even under the best of circumstances. When families are also struggling with poverty, those challenges can become overwhelming. That's why Welcome Hall Mission offers a range of programs, events, resources, and support designed to strengthen the entire family. From homework assistance and enriching activities for children to practical support for parents, Welcome Hall Mission helps families access the tools, opportunities, and encouragement they need to build brighter, more stable futures together.

Youth Services Centre

Welcome Hall Mission operates a Youth Services Centre in Montréal North, providing vital support and resources to young people and their families. The centre offers a wide range of services, including homework assistance, one-on-one counselling with intervention workers, and opportunities for peer connection and personal development.

Established in 2021 with the generous support of the Home Depot Canada Foundation, this invaluable resource continues to make a lasting impact in one of the city’s most vulnerable communities. By providing a safe, welcoming environment and access to essential services, the Youth Services Centre helps pre-teens and teens build resilience, develop confidence, and access the support they need to thrive.

'Rentrée la tête haute' Back to School Event

Each August, Welcome Hall Mission hosts two vibrant community celebrations in Saint-Henri and Montréal North, creating the biggest block parties in town. Filled with music, popcorn, cotton candy, sports, games, and educational activities, these events bring joy to nearly 2,000 children and their families.

Most importantly, every child receives a brand-new backpack filled with school supplies carefully selected for their grade level, ensuring they are prepared for a successful school year. To help them start the year with confidence, each child and teen also receives a new pair of shoes and/or new clothing, giving them everything they need to head back to school with pride.

'Noël pour tous' Christmas Toy Giveaway

The Christmas season is a time of wonder and excitement for children who dream of receiving a special toy or gift. With the generous support of our donors, more than 2,000 children and their families take part in our annual Christmas Toy Giveaway each year, receiving over 7,000 gifts to help make the season brighter.

For many of the families we serve, this celebration is a cherished moment of joy after a year filled with challenges. For newcomers to Canada, it is often their very first time experiencing the magic of Christmas in their new home. It is truly heartwarming to see children and families come together to celebrate, create new memories, and feel welcomed and supported by their community.
